About the Range

Cheylesmore is one of our gallery rifle and pistol ranges, with a maximum distance of 25 metres. The range consists of two bays. Bay A (only bookable by GB Pistol and the Army), contains Olympic standard electronic targets. Bay B is bookable by clubs and members, on an hourly and full session bases, and contains 20 turning targets

Being a closed off environment, and an NDA range, Cheylesmore is extremely popular with clubs wanting to hold weekend shoots, or club guest days.

Firearms Permitted 

Bay B - 

Gallery Rifles and Pistols -

  • Maximum Muzzle Velocity: 655 m/s (2150 ft/s) 
  • Maximum Muzzle Energy: 2030 J (1496 ft lb)

For any other firearms/ammunition, special permission from the CE must be obtained.

Special Requirements 

  • Bay B bookings can request the club room/classroom attached to the range with no extra cost (please request at time of booking).

Cheylesmore Evening Shoots 

  • On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, we offer evening shoots to clubs on Bay B.
  • The club must have a correctly qualified first aider, and are required to attend a range safety brief before-hand.

Facilities 

Toilets - 

  • There is a toilet block with disabled access located in the car park outside the range

Parking - 

  • The range has a large designated car park situated by the front entrance (what3words - snap.shadow.sits)

Targetry 

The following targets can be requested and supplied:

  • PL7
  • DP1
  • DP2
  • B1(1500)
  • Blank target face

Hard targets are not permitted. 

Please note, targets and/or backing boards are not included in your booking. For additional targets, these are classed as extras, and additional charges apply; these should be highlighted in your booking.

Range Hire Costs (High Season from 29th March 2026): 

  • Hourly - £50.00
  • Weekday AM - £123.00 / PM - £93.00
  • Weekend AM - £141.00 / PM - £141.00
  • Evening shoot  - £222.00
  • Additional targets - £7.00

How to Book

Select the range as either 'Cheylesmore (B)' (for AM/PM sessions), or 'Cheylesmore (B) Hourly' (for hourly options).  

Select the number of lanes as one, as this counts for the whole range. Timings wise, select your hours if applicable, or AM/PM for full sessions. 

Remember to add your target types and amounts in the 'extras' section.
